COVID-19 MEASURES FOR SAFETY

March 18th, 2020 UPDATE:

Alo House Recovery Centers is an essential healthcare facility and will remain open in accordance with the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health.

Our high standard of best practices in addition to COVID-19 best practices have been implemented:

  • All group are limited to fewer than 10 clients
  • All clients who live off-site are receiving treatment via the HIPPA Compliant Zoom platform (telehealth)
  • Visitors are limited to urgent need as determined by our Clinical and Medical Teams
  • All recovery and 12-step meetings are hosted on site or via Zoom
  • Family sessions are held via Zoom
  • Off-site passes and travel are limited to urgent need as determined by our Clinical Team
  • A variety of fun and engaging on-site activities such as movie and game nights are organized daily
  • On-site exercise groups such as Yoga and HIIT are available
  • Outdoor hikes and beach walks are ongoing where any crowds can be avoided
  • Live Sound Bath and Meditation groups via Zoom
  • Admissions and Medical Team continue to thoroughly pre-assess and pre-screen any new admits before they come onto the property
  • No one exhibiting symptoms or with a fever is allowed onto the property
  • Our Infection Prevention Team is monitoring up to date information with the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) as well as through the DHCS (Department of Health Care Services)
  • All staff have their temperature checked before coming on to any of the properties and are cleared by Nursing Staff prior to work
  • All clients have their temperature checked daily by Nursing Staff
  • Hand washing initiatives have increased and all clients are frequently reminded to wash their hands properly and thoroughly
  • Our Environment of Care Team continues to maintain all public areas and all doorknobs, light switches and kitchens have had the frequency of sanitizing increased
  • All staff who do not participate in direct client care are working remotely from their homes to limit the exposure to our staff and clients
  • Hand Sanitizer is available for our staff and clients

Infection Prevention Team:

The health and safety of our clients and staff is of utmost importance to us. Our Infection Prevention Team is monitoring up to date information about COVID-19 with the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) as well as through the DHCS (Dept. of Health Care Services). We are working closely with the state and local health officials to ensure that we are in full compliance with their directives. Alo House Recovery Centers is following all recommendations and guidelines from the CDC and DHCS to prevent the spread of any illness and applying all necessary protocols immediately.

Environment of Care Team:

Our Environment of Care Team continues to maintain a safe and sanitary environment including having supplies that will support the prevention of the spread of the virus. Example: personal protective equipment such as face masks will be available if needed, staff will wear gloves when handling client medications, hand sanitizer is prevalent throughout all facilities, as well as hospital grade surface wipes are available. We have stepped up the existing hand washing initiatives, as well as increased the frequency of cleaning of our public areas (including door handles, light switches, public and private bathrooms, computer keyboards, etc.). We have increased the deep cleaning of our facilitiesā€™ daily;

Staff Education:

All staff and clients have been educated on:

  • Avoid touching your nose, mouth, eyes, and face in general
  • Stay home if you are sick
  • Avoid contact with anyone who is sick
  • Washing hands regularly and thoroughly
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and then throw it in the trash
