Sal Michael Federico,
BA, RADT-1, Shift Lead
Sal Michael Federico didn’t take the usual path in life. He starting using alcohol and drugs at young age, and in the process, missed out on a normal childhood.
After a lengthy 19-year battle with addiction, Mike has been clean since 2011. It took an outpatient program and help from a 12-step program to give Mike a second chance at life; and he has taken full advantage of this opportunity.
Since getting clean, Mike has received his BA in Sociology and Social Work from California State University of Channel Islands. He also has aspirations of getting a Masters in Sports Management and a Law Degree.
As for being a Shift Lead at Alo House, Mike feels that it is a great way to give back to the recovery community. He feels he owes the recovery community for saving him from a life of addiction, and this position helps him repay that debt.
